From the Trocadero~ Missing Paris Day

It's been hot in Paris lately, I'm told.
I'm miserable in heat without air conditioning
so I know how I would be
but something in me would still like to be there,
walking the sultry streets~
enjoying the revelers in cafe chairs~
the picnickers on the lawn of the Champ de Mars~
the trucked-in sand of the Paris Plage.

The summer has flown by here,
weeks escaping like wind on the moors.
I've barely had time to catch my breath.
I had the weekend to myself which I thought would do it
but I still feel like I just scratched the surface of my To-Do List!

Hope you all have enjoyed your summer
and are getting ready for that
To-Do List that is fall.
I can feel it already in the air.

Enjoy the last precious days.

  1. BONJOUR KIRSTEN!

I know, I hear that Europe is having an unbearable heat wave! But something tells me too that I would not mind, for I am used to the heat, but to see the cities, the woods, the villages of France and England, Belgium and the Netherlands would make me forget the heat. BE WELL MY SWEET FRIEND! Anita

  2. Hello Kristen,
What a beautiful photo! I wish I was there..
I am sorry you have had to endure the heat without AC... I don't know what I would do without mine.. It has been over 100 for weeks..

Thank you so much for visitng and leaving such kind thoughts about my work in the kitchen.. It was time consuming, the bricks on the backsplash were also hand painted.
I am so happy it is done.

I love the music here... So relaxing.
    Wishing you a beautiful day.
    fondly,
    Penny

  3. I think I would rather be in Paris even when it's hot than here where it is hot. I am ready for Fall. As I get older, I don't do well with the heat, like you. I hope you are enjoying the last of the summer days. This picture is lovely.

  4. I enjoy the beautiful lyrical music as I read your posts. My son took me to Paris 10 years ago. One of the most memorable times ever in my life. Words cannot describe the joy I had there with him.

I LOVE Spring and Summer and heat, and turn into a whiny little baby when the winds come in Fall and then the cold Winter. I have to remind myself every season has its purpose. Thank you for reminding me of Paris!!!!

  5. Tomorrow I begin my fourth week of this school year. I can hardly believe it. I have a great group, though. So, it makes leaving summer behind a bit easier.
