"The only reason we don't open our hearts and minds to other people
is that they trigger confusion in us that we don't feel brave enough
or sane enough to deal with.
To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves,
we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else's eyes."
~ Pema Chodron
What would that feel like to look fearless into someone else's eyes?
Or, for that matter, into our own?
I took this photo in Point Reyes, Ca., a couple of years ago
and it reminds me of the spectacular beauty of simplicity.
Look in your own eyes today
and see that beauty.
Then look in another's.

I absolutely love this thought my friend. I had to do this on Friday. The only way I can deal with pain is to look straight in the eyes of the confrontation. To be bold, to be brave and take in and listen. How true this is.
